Xmas List 2021: 25 ideas for the 25 days of Christmas

Happy Christmas!! In honor of the holiday season, I've decided to share some ideas of things to possibly ask for this year. These are just ideas, some from my very own Christmas list and some I've been keeping my eye on for friends and family. Just remember to be thankful and appreciative for all you've been given. We are all way luckier than we'll ever know. I need that reminder too.

So in all sincerity, here's something light and fun and hopefully inspirational. I hope this gives you the holiday spirit (just enough to get you to winter break).

1. Jeans:

Now this may not seem super exciting, but I think it's totally necessary. There's something about getting clothes for Christmas that makes me so happy especially if it's clothes that I know I'll want to wear to school when break is over. You can never go wrong with jeans. You're parents will be elated that you're showing interest in wearing something nice for once and you get a cute pair of jeans. Win-win am I right?

2. Records:

This is something I ask for every year. If you don't have a record player then that might be an issue with asking for this particular present. But you should definitely ask for one instead. I may or may not already have 3 pairs of slippers. And do I want more? Yes. Something in my brain tells me that slippers are Christmas-y to, so do with that what you will.

4. Ugg Blanket:

I received an Ugg blanket for Christmas last year and I am addicted to it. It feels just like the inside of an Ugg and comes it a bunch of different, really groovy colors. This would be a great gift idea for a friend of family member.

5. Flannels:

My most recent obsession is flannels. This is such a good gift idea that can vary from super inexpensive to a little more on the pricey side. Flannels are perfect for the winter weather and come in some really fabulous colors. And personally, I think flannels are the new black, but maybe I'm wrong.

6. Merch:

One of my most favorite things to ask for for Christmas is celebrity merchandise. This is because typically, I'll want merch from my favorite celebrities all year but will never pull the trigger because it's too dang expensive. This way, you can ask for some cool stuff that you know is a little out of your price range. Also, this is a great gift to get your friends if you particularly bond over having the same celebrity crush/icon. Here's the tote bag I happen to be asking for this holiday season:

7. Candles:

I know, I know, I know, it's basic. But, c'mon. Who doesn't love a good candle. More than ever, I've been lighting candles to study and do my homework as it makes my room smell all nice and makes the lighting cozier. On top of that great use, candles aren't usually super expensive, making them perfect for family, friends, boy friends, girl friends, whoever.

8. Jewelry:

I have a hard time with this one. As easy as it is to ask for 'jewelry' as a way to get your mom to get off your back about what you want, it's hard to actually find pieces that get you excited. Or maybe that's just me. I'm not a super fancy jewelry gal and have never asked for something outrageously nice because frankly, I will break it, turn it green, lose it, etc. So instead, here's an option for jewelry in a good price range that I think is actually pretty and versatile.

9. Makeup:

There are some makeup items that I ask for every year as this is that magical time of year when suddenly, all of my makeup products run out. I'm also just a huge fan of holiday makeup and skincare sets as I think that they are absolutely so adorable and fairly priced. I thoroughly recommend a set like this one for a mother or someone else in your life that you know appreciates makeup and skincare.

10. Flare leggings:

The trend of the year everyone!! Flare leggings!! Honestly, I think that this is such a good thing to ask for as you know that you will be wearing these to school almost everyday. There are some really funky and cool colors out there that I think can help you set yourself apart without breaking the bank. And, back to what I was saying earlier, your parents will be happy that you are choosing to wear something other than sweats to school. Hopefully.

I LOVE HIGH-TOPS. High-top this, high-top that, I want them all. I think that a high top can elevate any sort of bland outfit, making it more interesting and flattering. 12. Tennis shoes:

Now, I know I could've been a little more specific but that's where I want you to put your own taste into your list. I came to realize a couple months ago that I don't necessarily have a pair of tennis shoes that I really like to wear for working out/going on walks and runs. 14. Sweats:

This might be a hard sell to ye ole parents, but let's be honest: who doesn't want a good pair of sweats. I'm personally always looking for comfort so this is at the top of my list. And just because they're sweats, doesn't mean they can't be adorably cute. So, this year, take the time to look around and find some sweats that maybe won't make your parents groan and complain. Cuz at the end of the day, let's be real; you're going to end up wearing these at least once a week to school.

15. Crystals:

I used to not be nearly as superstitious as I am now. And I'm honestly okay with that. Here's something to bring someone some happiness, positive energy, stress-free days, test day luck, love, joy, etc. On top of being good for the soul, crystals are typically that expensive, making them a great gift for all of your friends. Why not spread some Christmas spirit and feel like a good person? With crystals, you can kill two bird with one stone. Or crystal I should say. That was my attempt at a joke...

I HAVE BEEN WANTING A MOOD RING FOR SO LONG AND WHY? idk. But honestly, what is it about childhood objects that makes me feel the most passionate of longings. And talk about inexpensive, these suckers are usually only a couple of bucks. So please, fill each others stockings with them and analyze one another based on the color presented on the plastic rings. Please, please, please.

17. Curlers:

Recently, I have been kinda interested in hair products which is very, very unlike me. There's something about putting in curlers and leaving them in over night that seem so classy to me. 19. Funky sweaters/cardigans:

I'm probably the biggest fan of sweater that you will ever ever meet. If I could wear a sweater everyday of the year I would, that's how much I love them! And honestly, I think that big, cozy cardigans are going to become a bigger trend this winter. Especially, in a more casual setting like thrown over a t-shirt or something of that nature. I don't care if platform boots/docs are seen as goth. So what? I really really dig them and find myself wearing my docs very often. Especially with causal jeans and a cool sweater. 23. Books:

What can I say? My latest playlist on Spotify isn't called "Im starting to read again" for nothing. Now, this is an area I would give full permission to your parents to pick out. 24. Journal:

Not to be that person, but I write in a journal almost every night. I'm not going to lie, it feels good. I think everyone should have a safe space where they feel like they can debrief whether that be a physical location or a blank page. Getting your best friend a journal for journaling in is not only thoughtful but inspirational too. Take my advice and get your friends some free therapy this holiday season!
